To measure your windows always use a metal tape measure for accuracy. Add extra to each side for the drapery stack (the width of space the drapery hangs when the drape is completely opened). Consider adding 2 to 4 inches of additional width to each side for the finial width. A wider rod may allow for privacy coverage and affords you the luxury of making your windows appear larger and more dramatic. Consider these additional measurements when selecting the width size of your draperies.
